ReplyDeleteconsider this, if you will fix it, the two teams that reach final should be able to pull people to the stadiums and viewership should be very high.
Last year it was India vs Pakistan, the biggest match in cricket world and having them in a world cup final. It will not only pull people to the stadium but also will give a bigger viewership which means more money from sponsors etc.
This year I was thinking it will India vs Aus in the final, because of the racist attacks on indians in Aus. that would have filled the stadium like anything. and that would have generated extra interest as well.
but I guess the attack on Sri Lankan team in Lahore was a bigger cause, as at that time people were talking about that cricket in Pakistan may finish at all. Now, having Pak and Sri Lanka in the finals of a world cup will have everybody sympathising that its a good reply to the people who attacked this team. Now cancellation of that tour must have hurt PCB big time. Now on 21st if PAK wins that will balance out the differences and the balance sheet will again become green.
Now take this, its been two years since ICL (yes I am talking about the so called rebel league) started. why have they not filed a case against ICC to recognise it and make it an official tournament? When Kerry Packer started he filed a case as soon as CA refused to give it an official status.
People try to understand every match can be fixed. ofcourse not up to the detail which batsman will play or who will not, because that will make it look obvious.
Now in todays match, why will you have Gayle playing till the end because it will keep the money rolling from people who think Gayle can win this match alone as long as he is on the crease.
People there are bigger interests involve in these kinds of things.
Remember there are faceless people who run this business.
With the above argument I rest my case.

The reason why this fixing theory is ever so prevalent is because Match-fixing is big in inda. India's players are so corrupt. Indians think all teams are like that.
